Wall

My second stop was the Roman fort of Letocetum in Wall, in the West Midlands. Truly in the middle of nowhere, the old fort was decidedly free of tourists and in its isolation seemed one step closer to the Romans themselves. The settlement had an inn and a bathhouse within its walls. Although it was certainly not the most largest or best-preserved of the Roman ruins I saw, Letocetum was still unique as a stopping place along the major Roman highway in the area.
