Barnafoss
October 5, 2008

Barnafossar means "the children's waterfall," and is named after two children who, according to an old story, died in the falls while trying to cross the river. Barnafoss, along with nearby Hraunfossar, pours from lava rock into the White River (also the source of the spectacular waterfall Gulfoss, which I had seen two weeks earlier).
