Setting off after our seventh-week Tuesday tutorials, we caught a cheap BMI flight to Dublin for a few days and a last getaway before the end of term. The first afternoon was taken in exploring the compact but lovely city and its famous Trinity College, which houses the Book of Kells (no pictures allowed--sorry). Friday was occupied with a short tour of Dublin Castle (the seat of English power during their 700-year occupation of the island), Christchurch and St. Patrick's Cathedrals, and after lunch, the National Gallery, which contains many Viking and Celtic treasures.
