After a month of staring at Icelandic horses from bus windows and petting their fluffy manes, I finally got a chance to ride one--my first riding experience ever! Icelandic horses are great for beginners because they're small, short, and from what I could tell, good tempered. Unfortunately that was beginning to not be the case for the weather.
