The day before we left for Sicily, Joe, Sara, Marcos, and I took a trip to one of my favorite places in Oxford--the Museum of Natural History. Behind the beautiful Gothic Revival exterior lies a delicate framework of exposed iron columns and arches, themselves supported by columns made from every type of stone in England. The museum's exhibits on birds, mammals, and dinosaurs may not be as extensive as others, but the individual pieces are often incredible. And the whole place smells of mothballs--a sign of true tradition if ever there was one.
