My third field trip for Medieval English Architecture was to 13th-century Salisbury Cathedral, not far away from Stonehenge, which I had seen in the fall. The church has the tallest spire and largest cloister in England, in addition to the world's oldest working clock and an original copy of the Magna Carta. The cathedral, unlike the others I saw, was built in a single style, the Early English Gothic, and it made for a great trip.
